A boat became stranded at Wingfield this afternoon, a long way from the ocean.
Police were alerted at 1.15pm on Sunday 13 January by a passing motorist that a boat had come off a trailer at the intersection of Grand Junction Road and South Road, Wingfield.
The owner was long gone, not realising the boat had 'slipped its moorings' and fallen off the trailer. Police contacted him and he returned to collect his boat and a fine for unsecured load.
