A body has been located in the search for a man missing in Lake Cargelligo.
About 3pm on Saturday (17 January 2026), emergency services were called to the boat ramp at Lake Street, Lake Cargelligo, after reports a 41-year-old man had not surfaced after falling off a paddleboard.
The paddleboard was recovered, and a multi-agency search commenced by officers from Central West Police District with the assistance of specialist police from the Diving Unit, Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, as well as VRA and SES personnel.
Just before 2pm (Monday 19 January 2026), the body of a man was located by police divers.
The body is believed to be that of the missing paddleboarder.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
