Body identified, NSW

The man’s body retrieved from the ocean at Bondi on the weekend has been formally identified, NSW Police say.

Just after 8am on Saturday 11 June 2016, the body of a man was located about 450m east of Bondi Beach.

Police were alerted and a vessel from the Marine Area Command was dispatched to the area and the body was recovered.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command conducted inquiries into the man’s death.

Following the use of dental records the man’s body has been formally identified as a 20-year-old American citizen reported missing on Monday (6 June 2016).
