Body located after house fire at Hurstville

The body of a man has been located following a house fire in Sydney's south today.

Just before 8am (Wednesday 15 September 2021), emergency services were called to a home at The Avenue, Hurstville, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and located the body of a man inside the home.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from St George Police Area Command established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information about the fire to come forward.
