A body has been located following a house fire in Sydney's west this afternoon.
About 3.40pm (Saturday 22 August 2026), emergency services were called to a unit block on Church Street, Ryde, after reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire before locating a body – believed to be that of a man aged in his 60's – inside a unit on the second floor.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
No suspicious circumstances have been identified at this time.
