Body located, believed to be missing man from Blakehurst, NSW

A man’s body has been located in Blakehurst this evening, which is believed to be that of a man missing from the area since Monday, NSW Police say.

Just after 6.30pm today, emergency services were called to Pleasant Way, Blakehurst following reports of a man’s body located.

Officers from St George Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of a 64-year-old man who was reported missing from his Blakehurst home since Monday (17 October 2016).

Despite extensive searches of the area since the man was reported missing by officers from St George Local Area Command, Water Police, Police Rescue and public online appeals, the man could not be located.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
