Body located in search for missing man, NSW

Police searching for a man missing from Lower Macdonald, near Wisemans Ferry, have located the body of a man.

The 87-year-old was last seen at his home at St Albans Road about 5.30pm yesterday.

Police were alerted after he couldn’t be located by family and friends.

Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command launched an extensive search of the area with assistance from the State Emergency Service (SES).

This morning today, the search resumed involving police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command, PolAir, police divers, and the SES.

About 11.35am, police divers located the body of the missing man in the McDonald River opposite the property.

While no formal identification has taken place, the body is believed to be that of the missing person.

Police thank the media and the public for their assistance, NSW Police say.
