The body of a woman has been recovered following an extensive land and water search at Surfers Paradise overnight, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information indicates that a 33-year-old female foreign national attended the Broadwater with friends around 5.00pm, where she has entered the water.
A short while later, the woman could not be located by her friends who alerted police.
A search was conducted by Gold Coast water police, uniform officers, police divers and Volunteer Marine Rescue.
Around 8.00pm, the body of a woman was located in the vicinity by police divers and investigators are now working to formally identify the deceased
