Bonegilla Road speedster becomes a pedestrian

A 50-year-old man was caught travelling at high speeds near Wodonga yesterday, Victoria Police say.

The maroon Holden Rodeo was allegedly clocked at 113km/h in a 80km/h zone on Bonegilla Road about 4pm.

Police intercepted the vehicle and discovered the driver was allegedly unlicenced and the car was unregistered.

After a positive preliminary breath test the driver went to the Wodonga police station where he allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.244 per cent.

Wodonga Highway Patrol officers immediately impounded his vehicle at a cost of $723.00.

The Myrtleford man is expected to be charged on summons with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, exceeding the speed limit, driving whilst unlicenced and driving an unregistered car.
