Bonny Hills man in court for traffic and drug offences

A man will appear in court today charged with traffic and drug offences following a search warrant in Bonny Hills yesterday.

About 3.45pm Wednesday 28 August 2019, police conducted a vehicle stop on Bonny View Drive.

The 37-year-old driver was arrested when he was found to be driving on a disqualified licence.

Upon searching him and the vehicle, police located a tomahawk, cash, a small amount of a prohibited drug and related paraphernalia, consistent with drug supply.

The man was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital to supply blood and urine for testing, before being conveyed to Port Macquarie Police Station.

Shortly after, police obtained a warrant to search the man's residence on Bonny View Drive, Bonny Hills where they located and seized a shotgun and ammunition, as well as a boat and trailer allegedly stolen in May 2018.

The 37-year-old was charged with goods in or on premises suspected being stolen (vessel), drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle), possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will appear in Port Macquarie Local Court today (29 August 2019).
