Boy Arrested After Carlton Stabbings

Detectives from Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit and the Gang Crime Squad this morning arrested a 17-year-old boy as part of an investigation into an incident in Carlton on 31 December where two men were stabbed.
Following an appeal for information on 4 February, a 17-year-old boy from the Melbourne area self-presented to a police station this morning.
He was interviewed by investigators and has since been released pending further enquiries.
Emergency services were called to Lygon Street near the intersection of Argyle Place about 11.33pm on Wednesday, 31 December.
Police will allege a group of males armed with knives and machetes set-upon two men outside a restaurant, before fleeing in vehicles.
The two victims - a 20-year-old Heidelberg West man and an 18-year-old NSW man - sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital.
Three males have been previously charged in relation to the investigation - a 20-year-old Richmond man, a 21-year-old Fitzroy man and a 17-year-old boy from the Melbourne area.
Two men, a 19-year-old from Carlton and a 21-year-old from Reservoir, were arrested and released pending further enquiries.
Detectives believe the incident was targeted and parties involved were known to each other.
Anyone who recognises the male in the pictures or has information or the whereabouts of the vehicle is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an anonymous report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
