Boy dies after creek bed collapses near Orange, NSW

Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a boy in the states central west, NSW Police say.

Just after 2pm today (Saturday 10 November 2018), emergency services were called to a property on Mitchell Highway, Molong, about 35kms north east of Orange.

Police have been told three boys were fishing on a creek bed when it collapsed.

An 11-year-old boy was treated for critical injuries but died at the scene.

The other two boys were not physically injured.

Officers from Central West Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
