Boy dies in single-vehicle crash in Coonabarabran

A boy has died in a single-vehicle crash in the state's west last night.

Just after 8pm (Tuesday 22 January 2019), emergency services were called to Dandry Road, Coonabarabran, after reports a Daihatsu Feroza left the road and rolled.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and located the driver, a 43-year-old man, and his passenger, an unresponsive 11-year-old boy.

The boy was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

The man was taken to Coonabarabran Hospital with minor injuries and later transferred to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition.

As inquiries continue into the cause of the crash, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
