Brisbane's City Hall Lights Up for 13th Year

The Lott

Brisbane City Hall sparkled with festive magic last Friday as The Lott by Golden Casket kicked off its 13th consecutive year supporting the much-loved City Hall Lights.

The show officially launched with the flick of the switch by Brisbane Lord Mayor Cr Vicki Howard accompanied by The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart and hundreds of onlookers who were able to watch this year's story as it beamed onto Brisbane City Hall.

"Christmas is a time for families to come together, and there's a deep sense of joy in being part of something that unites people," The Lott by Golden Casket spokesperson Matt Hart shared.

"Celebrating the 13th year of supporting this wonderful event, we extend our warmest wishes to all our customers and their families. We wish them a merry Christmas and a safe, joyful holiday season."

This year's dazzling 6-minute show, A Christmas Blackout, is written by local author M.H Flynn. The story follows Ned and Ted, who worry Santa won't find them in their new apartment. Rallying their neighbours to light up their balconies, they're faced with a sudden blackout on Christmas Eve. But the community's spirit shines through as everyone comes together with candles, music, and hope, ensuring Santa's arrival and a memorable Christmas for all.

The free light show transforms Brisbane City Hall into a canvas of colour and joy, playing every 15 minutes from 7:30pm to midnight, 6-24 December, in King George Square.
