In-flight vibration and forced landing, near Bembridge Airport, Isle of Wight on 12 April 2025
This statement provides an update on the ongoing AAIB investigation into an accident involving a Bristell NG5 Speed Wing aircraft, G-CMSM, which suffered severe vibration during departure from Bembridge Airport on the Isle of Wight.
The aircraft made a forced landing in a holiday park and was destroyed by a post-impact fire. Both occupants escaped without serious injury. The investigation is ongoing and the AAIB is working with the propeller manufacturer to understand a component failure. A final report will be published in due course.
