Buglary and unlawful use charges in Brisbane, QLD

Detectives have charged seven teenagers following the alleged break in of a Jindalee house early this morning., Queensland Police say

It will be alleged that at about 12.45am an 80-year-old woman has been asleep at her home when she was disturbed by someone searching her room. They have fled and she contacted police.

Polair has observed a vehicle leaving the street at speed and the vehicle allegedly failed to stop for police at the Centenary Highway on ramp from Sinnamon Road. Polair continued to track the vehicle along the Centenary Highway.

Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at the Mount Coot-Tha end of the Western Freeway. The vehicle continued along Milton Road into the city.

It will be alleged the car has turned from Roma Street into George Street and travelled against the flow of traffic along George Street.

At the intersection with Adelaide Street it has collided at low speed with two police vehicles and seven teenagers were taken into custody at the scene.

No one was physically injured during the incident and only minor damage occurred to the vehicles.

The vehicle had been stolen sometime on Thursday from a Woodridge unit complex carpark.

A 16-year-old Logan Central boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fail to stop.

A 14-year-old Oxley boy, a 14-year-old Marsden boy, a 14-year-old Logan Central boy, a 14-year-old Inala girl, 15-year-old Inala girl and a 17-year-old Logan Central woman have all been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and burglary.

The juveniles will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act and the woman from Logan Central is expected to appear at the Richlands Magistrates Court tomorrow, August 29.
