When Kathryn first joined the Red Hill Riders Club, she was simply looking for a new challenge.
Now, she's helping other women find the confidence to give mountain biking a go.
"[Mountain bike riding] has been traditionally a very male dominated sport, so I run women's rides on the Peninsula, encouraging them to get out there, have some social time, get some exercise, get some fresh air, see some new places," explains Kathryn.
For Kathryn, International Women's Day is a reminder that women can step outside their comfort zone and try something new.
The Red Hill Riders Club is also a part of the Peninsula Women in Sport Leadership network, which is dedicated to empowering and supporting women in sports leadership roles, or those aspiring to such roles.
This International Women's Day on 8 March, take this as a sign to get involved, whether that's trying a new sport, joining a local club or attending a community event.
