Building fire in Liverpool

Inquires are underway after four stories of a building caught fire in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the unoccupied building on Shepherd Street, Liverpool, just before 8.30pm today, following reports of a fire.

Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, with the building only receiving minor damage.

Officers attached to Liverpool Local Area Command established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers to establish the cause of the fire.

It is not yet known if the fire was deliberately lit.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
