Burglars bag bling in Malvern East

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after thieves broke into a Malvern East jewellery store this morning (11 November), Victoria Police say.

It is believed two masked individuals, one armed with a hammer, smashed their way into the Burke Road store about 2.30am and fled with a large quantity of jewellery, including earrings, pearl necklaces and other assorted jewellery.

They then fled south along Burke Road in a dark-coloured sedan, possibly a Holden Cruze.

Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He was wearing a white hoodie, grey cap, black pants with a white Adidas logo down one side, black runners and a white mask covering his face.

Police have also released a partial image of a vehicle as well as that of a second person, believed to be a female, who was wearing white fluffy slippers and checked pants, possibly pyjamas.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
