A man has been charged following investigations into a number of linked burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing offences across Mackay on the weekend, Queensland Police say.
It will be alleged around 1am yesterday a silver Ford Falcon sedan was stolen from an Argyle Court residence in Beaconsfield.
The vehicle is alleged to have been used to force entry into a gun shop on Caterpillar Drive in Paget shortly before 5am yesterday.
Once inside, it will be alleged the two men jumped the front counter and removed a number of weapons and amount of ammunition from the store.
It will further be alleged the pair forced their way into a Racecourse service station before stealing an amount of cigarettes.
The same vehicle is alleged to have been involved in two petrol drive offs and evade police incidents.
Police acting on information from members of the public executed a search warrant at a Whitehaven Drive residence in Blacks Beach where it will be alleged the stolen vehicle was located.
Two 23-year-old men located at the residence were taken into custody and charged with burglary, fraud, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, receiving stolen property and weapons offences
Detectives were also able to recover the alleged stolen weapons and cigarettes.
It will further be alleged one of the men has been linked to a spate of ram raid style offences in the business and industrial areas of Paget during October.
Both men are expected to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
