Police are investigating burglaries committed at a Claremont Takeaway shop and the Zambrero Restaurant in Moonah this morning, Tasmania Police say.
- In the early hours, two men broke into the takeaway shop on Wyndham Road in Claremont. A considerable amount of damage was caused to the front doors to gain entry. A cash tin containing an amount of money was stolen.
- At around 3.15am, two men broke into the Zambrero Restaurant on Main Road in Moonah. Again, two men forced the rear door to gain entry. Nothing was stolen.
Police believe both burglaries were committed by the same men. They were described as being of medium height and stocky build and driving a silver Subaru Liberty sedan which was stolen from the Bridgewater area.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone who has information in relation to the burglaries or offenders, or who saw the Subaru in the Moonah or Claremont areas at the time of the burglaries.
Information can be provided to Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
