Burglary with violence at Morningside, QLD

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted and cut with a knife during the attempted burglary of a business at Morningside yesterday evening (August 1), Queensland Police say.

At around 5.45pm a 37-year-old female employee disturbed a man who had entered the premises on Breene Place and was taking items from a lower level meeting room.

As the woman entered the kitchen area she was grabbed from behind by the man and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the woman bit the man on the right hand.

The woman sustained a cut on her arm before the man fled the scene.

She was transported to Mater Hospital for treatment to the wound.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 188cm tall and was wearing a black hat, black jumper, black pants and black latex gloves.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
