Detectives are investigating after a woman was assaulted during a violent burglary incident in Caboolture yesterday, Queensland Police say.
Around 5:45pm, a man and woman known to the victim forced their way into a Torrens Road address and threatened the 36-year-old female resident.
The pair then demanded cash and assaulted the before stealing a number of items and leaving in a white Toyota utility.
A short time later police were notified of a single vehicle crash involving the ute at Bellmere.
On arrival, officers observed the ute to be engulfed in flames and the driver located a short distance away.
The 48-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to Caboolture Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He was later arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery, and one count each of assault occasion bodily harm whilst armed, common assault, enter dwelling with intent and wilful damage.
The man is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The woman, believed to be a passenger in the ute, fled the crash and has not yet been located.
Investigations are continuing.
