Burning bridges in Mooroopna

Police are investigating after a suspicious fire caused significant damage to a railway bridge in Mooroopna last month, Victoria Police say.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told the damage to the timber trestle bridge was located by a railway worker about 11.15am on 18 April.

The damage was caused by a fire which investigators believe was deliberately lit at the base of one of the timer trestles.

A small amount of graffiti was also located burnt into a timber beam.

It appears to read "TC [heart]’s KA" with the number "17" underneath.

Investigators have released images of the graffiti in the hope that someone may be able to provide information as to the identity of the author.

Anyone who may be able to identify "TC" or "KA", or with any other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
