Emergency services remain at the scene of a crash on Park Street in the city today, NSW Police say.
About 3.50pm today a bus was travelling east on Park Street, between George and Pitt Street.
At the time the bus was not carrying any passengers.
Early investigations suggest the bus collided with the rear of a van that was stationary and in the process of being unloaded by three men.
As a result of the crash two men who were standing at the rear of the van were injured.
One of the men was airlifted to St Vincent’s Hospital; the other was taken by road. Both are reported to be serious but stable.
The third man escaped serious injury and was treated at the scene.
The bus driver was taken to hospital for mandatory tests.
Park Street remains closed while investigations continue by officers from Sydney City Local Area Command.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
