Busted in Boroondara

Boroondara police have charged three people following a call to Triple zero (000) last night.

A member of the public called police after they believed three men were allegedly dealing drugs about 7.40pm.

When police arrived at the intersection of High Street and Cotham Road, they located the trio inside the public toilet block.

Police arrested the trio and seized drugs, mobile phones, weapons and $6,115 cash.

Two men, aged 48 from Mitcham and 53 from Melbourne have each been charged with:

• Possess heroin; and

• Commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

A third man aged 43 from Forest Hill has been charged with;

• Traffic heroin;

• Possess a drug of dependence

• Deal with property suspected to be proceeds of crime; and

• Possess a controlled weapon

All three were also found to be in breach of the directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and will each be issued a $1652 penalty notice.

The directions by the Chief Health Officer, under the State of Emergency declared in Victoria, have been enacted to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.

They were all remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
