C219 Panel Report Received

Following the panel hearing held in late 2019, Whitehorse City Council has received the panel report for Amendment C219.

Amendment C219 proposed to introduce permanent tree controls to protect trees in residential areas.

Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Sharon Ellis said the panel report would be considered at an upcoming council meeting.

"Council staff are now preparing a report to council to consider the Panel Report and its recommendations," Cr Ellis said.

The Panel has recommended that the amendment be adopted as exhibited, subject to several minor changes. The changes include new landscape character objectives, a new decision guideline requiring consideration of replacement trees, and the redrafting of a permit exemption to improve clarity.

The panel report is available on Council's website at https://www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/schedule-9-landscape-overlay-amendmen…
