Nanango police are appealing for public assistance to help find the original owner of a television cabinet which has been found in Hervey Bay with cash inside, Queensland Police say.
A member of the public purchased the cabinet (pictured) from the Hervey Bay Recycling Market on Chapel Road and Aarlborg Road, North Nikenbah on June 27.
Once he arrived home he began the process of unloading the cabinet from his vehicle when one of the drawers opened and a substantial amount of cash fell out.
The man presented to Nanango Police Station and handed the cash over to officers.
Police are keen to reunite the money with the original owner of the cabinet and are appealing for anyone who may have information about the cabinet to contact Crime Stoppers.
