Call for Information - Attempted Robbery - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an attempted robbery this morning in Alice Springs.

Detective Senior Constable Gerrard Reardon said an unknown male approached a 41-year-old woman, who was jogging on Larapinta Drive at the intersection of Norman Jones Drive about 6am, and demanded she had over her mobile phone and money, Northern Territory Police say.

"The woman was able to flag down a passing motorist for help," he said.

"The offender is described as being of indigenous appearance, in his early 20s, wearing a yellow and red football jersey, black pants and a red baseball cap.

"We are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of the vehicle who picked up the victim. The car is believed to be an older-model white, two-door utility."

Anyone who may have information about this incident is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
