Call for Information - Robbery - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an alleged robbery in Alice Springs early this morning.

Detective Senior Constable Paul Parkanyi said an unknown male approached a 56-year-old woman and asked for money on Espie Street about 4:40am, Northern Territory Police say.

"The male then allegedly pushed the woman off her bicycle. She fled towards Bloomfield Street, where she was allegedly further assaulted."

The woman’s mobile phone and torch were stolen during the assault.

The man fled on foot towards the drain on Bloomfield Street. He is described as being of indigenous appearance and approximately 180cm tall.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
