Call for Information - Stealing with Violence - Darwin

Northern Territory Police are asking for public assistance to locate two males who were allegedly involved in a stealing with violence incident overnight.

The incident occurred around 11:45 last night on Bagot Road, Darwin, Northern Territory Police say.

Police say a 46-year-old taxi driver was parked on the inbound side of Bagot Road near the footbridge when two Indigenous males approached the taxi and pulled open the driver and passenger doors.

It is alleged that one of the males was armed with a broken bottle and threatened the victim whilst demanding money. The victim handed over a sum of cash and the alleged offenders fled on foot.

The first alleged offender is described as an Indigenous male in his mid-20s with wavy dark hair trimmed around the ears and a thin moustache. He was wearing a dark coloured baggy silky shirt with no collar and sleeves to the elbows, dark track pants with two vertical stripes down the sides, and a baseball cap with letters on the front. This is the person that was allegedly armed with the bottle.

The second alleged offender is described as an Indigenous male in his mid-20s with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark cap back to front, a red silky baggy shirt with writing on the front, and plain dark track pants.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
