Call for Premier's Youth Advisory Council EOIs 1 July

Peter Gutwein,Premier

The Premier's Youth Advisory Council provides an invaluable opportunity for the Tasmanian Government to directly hear the voices, concerns and ideas of young people from diverse backgrounds and communities on issues and policies affecting them.

The Council advises me and the Government on how to best work together to make Tasmania the best place to live.

Expressions of interest to join the Council are open now, and close Tuesday July 13, 2021.

Applications are welcome from young people aged between 12 and 24 and living in Tasmania.

Applications will include a written statement, answering the question: "Who are you and why do you want to be on the Premier's Youth Advisory Council?"

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a short interview (up to 15 minutes) by videoconference.

New appointments will be confirmed prior to the next meeting, which will be held in Hobart on August 14, 2021.

The Council builds on the substantial work already underway across Government to support young people, as well as creating another avenue to hear their views directly.

I look forward to hearing from Tasmania's young people on what is important to them, and continuing to work with the Council.
