Call for Witnesses - Stealing - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a male who was involved in three separate incidents in Alice Springs over the weekend.

The male entered a service station around 6:30pm on Saturday night where he is alleged to have stolen food items and a vehicle from the location, Northern Territory Police say

The vehicle was later recovered on Gap Road.

In another incident, the male is alleged to have entered a residence in East Side around 2:00pm on Sunday and stolen another vehicle. The vehicle was then driven to Flynn Drive Shopping Centre and abandoned when the male stole a third vehicle.

The victim of the third vehicle theft witnessed the male attempting to steal his vehicle and attempted to stop him by jumping on the bonnet. The vehicle left the location and collided with a fourth vehicle which then caused the victim to fall off.

The victim was conveyed to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are still searching for the outstanding stolen vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux dual cab with a tray back and South Australian registration S906BOG. The vehicle belongs to Budget Rent-A-Car and has distinctive ‘Budget’ labels on it.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents or who has information on the stolen car to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
