Calling for Business Advisory Panel member EOIs

Expressions of interest are now open to local business operators interested in being a part of a new Business Advisory Panel.

The Business Advisory Panel will provide advice, insight and feedback to Council on the outlook for the local economy, industry-specific challenges and opportunities, and the impacts of government policy.

The Panel will include 10 representatives from local businesses, City of Whittlesea Administrators and Council officers.

Administrator Chris Eddy said this new initiative would help shape the direction of Council's economic development programs and help build a strong local economy in the City of Whittlesea.

"By collaborating with leaders in our business community, we can support innovative local businesses and help them create employment and educational opportunities for our community," Mr Eddy said.

"Having a productive relationship and an established line of communication between local businesses and Council is critical to achieving our shared vision of a strong local economy.

"In addition to establishing the Business Advisory Panel, Council will also host a series of roundtable events and other engagement activities with businesses to take place throughout the year."

Membership to the Business Advisory Panel is voluntary. Meetings will be held six times per year for a two-year term.

The Panel will report back to Council twice a year.

Expressions of interest for the City of Whittlesea Business Advisory Panel will be open until 14 July 2021.
