Calling on youth of Campaspe

Youth week

Young people aged 12 to 25 from across Campaspe Shire are invited to apply to join Council's current Youth Advisory Group (YAG).

General Manager Community, Keith Oberin said the YAG is an opportunity for young people within our shire to share their views and opinion on issues and help Council understand the needs of our youth.

"Council genuinely wants to listen to the needs of young people in their local community, and through the YAG, Council will support participants with training and development opportunities for their own personal growth," Mr Oberin said.

The YAG was formed as an outcome of the Campaspe Youth Charter, adopted by council in 2015. The charter represents council's commitment to actively support youth citizenship, and encourage and respect young people's ideas, opinions, talents and dreams for the future.

"The YAG provides young people with the opportunity to work closely with staff and councillors, advocate for youth affairs, provide input to projects and developments and be the voice for young people across Campaspe," Mr Oberin added.

Applications for the new intake of YAG members to join existing members will close on Friday, 26 February.
