Young musos of all abilities in Corangamite Shire are invited to take part in an 'instrumental showcase' to celebrate Make Music Day on Friday 21 June.

The Corangamite Youth Make Music event will be held from 7 pm at the Phoenix Project, 56 Curdie Street, Cobden.

Youth Project Officer Jen Rowan said the event was a great opportunity for young people to take the stage and have a bit of fun.

"We are looking for a broad range of instruments, guitar to piano, clarinet to trumpet, bagpipes to voice and everything in between," Ms Rowan said.

"The event is the result of a partnership between Make Music Day Australia, Corangamite Shire Youth Services, the Phoenix Project Cobden and Chris Barks DJ.

"It is a real first. We are excited about hosting this event and being able to celebrate, perhaps even unearth some of the musical talent in the area.

"It will be a very relaxed vibe, ideal for those who want to give performance a go in a supportive environment," Ms Rowan said.
