Canada Backs Cultural Tourism in Grand Falls

Tourism offerings are essential to regional economic growth. Today, Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, announced a non-repayable contribution totaling $112,500 for the Regional Municipality of Grand Falls.

The contribution was used to purchase and install a modular stage and lighting equipment. This initiative aims to enhance cultural tourism events in the Grand Falls region.

The Honourable Gilles LePage, Minister responsible for the New Brunswick Regional Development Corporation, announced a provincial contribution of $67,500 for this project.

Today's announcement illustrates how the Government of Canada supports the growth of cultural tourism and stimulates local economies. By supporting cultural tourism, we strengthen the vitality of communities, celebrate their living heritage, and promote sustainable growth.
