Today, Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, announced a total federal contribution of $930,000 to help three maple syrup producers modernize their facilities. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
Sucrerie du Petit Camp Inc. will receive a $55,000 contribution to purchase equipment, modify its osmosis system, add a maple syrup press and do minor renovations on the existing building. This initiative aims to improve product quality and reduce operating costs.
Érablière Yves Plourdes Inc. will receive a $750,000 contribution to purchase steam boilers and an automated reverse osmosis system. The aim of this project is to set up a maple water processing centre on the business's new premises in Saint-Jacques.
Gino Cayouette Inc. will receive a $125,000 contribution to purchase specialized equipment, including a concentrator and a computerized operations management system. This project aims to increase production efficiency, improve quality control and support the business's future growth. The Government of New Brunswick will also provide a $50,000 contribution towards the project.
