Canadian Armed Forces Departure Parade for 2019 Nijmegen Marches

Media are invited to attend the departure parade of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members participating in the 2019 Nijmegen International Four Days Marches on July 9, 2019, at the Canadian War Museum. Lieutenant-General Jean-Marc Lanthier, Commander of the Canadian Army, will be the reviewing officer.

Additional information:

A contingent of 14 Canadian Armed Forces teams, comprised of 11 to 12 members each, plus other participants, will march through the towns and countryside around the city of Nijmegen, in the Netherlands, from July 16-19, 2019. The Canadian contingent will also participate in other commemorative ceremonies to pay homage to Canada's fallen members buried in Europe.

This is the 103rd edition of the marches and the 67th year of CAF participation. The Nijmegen Marches are an international four-day event that draws nearly 50,000 military and civilian participants from 84 countries to challenge their physical and mental endurance.The Marches are now the world's largest walking event.
