Car crash after short pursuit - Evanston Park , SA

An unlicensed driver has escaped serious injury after he crashed a car during a police pursuit at Evanston Park overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after midnight, on Wednesday 11 July, police patrols spotted a black Honda speeding north on Main North Road at Blakeview.

A patrol attempted to stop the car, but the driver allegedly refused and it was followed onto Potts Road Evanston Park, where the driver of the Honda lost control on a sharp bend and rolled the car and hitting a tree.

The driver and only occupant of the car, a 27-year-old from Para Hills was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with minor injuries.

Police checks on the driver revealed he was unlicensed and the car which belonged to a friend was unregistered.

The Para Hills was was reported for driving to evade police, and driving while unlicensed and unregistered vehicle. He will be summonsed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

The car was written off in the crash.
