Car hits house, driver sought, NSW

Police are searching for the driver of a car which left the road and hit a house during a pursuit at Macquarie Fields this morning, NSW Police say.

Officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command attempted to stop the driver in Harold Street shortly after 3.40am tomorrow.

Police will allege the man drove away and a pursuit was initiated; a short time later the vehicle hit the front bedroom of a house in Evelyn Street.

A male passenger was taken to Campbelltown Hospital to be checked as a precaution, he was treated and has since left the hospital.

A woman and a second man – who were also passengers – were checked at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics but did not require treatment.

A woman, who was asleep in the bedroom at the time, was treated for shock but was otherwise uninjured.

The house sustained minor damage, while a car parked in a shared driveway was also hit.

Police are now searching for the driver. They are following a number of lines of inquiry.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
