Car into fence at Somerton Park, SA

A man crashed his car into a school fence at Somerton Park following a domestic incident overnight, according to SA Police.

Police were responding to a call for assistance at a Glengowrie address, a man known to the victim had forced entry to the house and assaulted her.

As the patrol were approaching the address, they saw the man's vehicle leaving the scene. The patrol pursued the vehicle, which then immediately crashed into the fence of a school in Scarborough Street, Somerton Park.

The 36-year-old man from the western suburbs was arrested and taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with minor injuries.

The victim was treated at her home by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Once the arrested man has been medically cleared, he will be interviewed by Sturt CIB detectives.
