Care worker charged with indecent assault in Arncliffe

Police have charged a disability carer with the indecent assault of a patient at a care facility in Sydney’s south, NSW Police say.

Earlier this month, police from St George Local Area Command were told a woman aged in her 30s, who is confined to a wheelchair, had been indecently assaulted by a staff member at the facility.

The incident is alleged to have occurred in October this year, with the woman also threatened.

About 10.15am today, a 30-year-old disability carer was arrested at Kogarah Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated indecency – victim 16 or over and serious physical disability, aggravated indecent assault – victim has physical disability, and stalk/intimidate.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 14 December 2016.
