Cash and drugs seized, man charged near Liverpool, NSW

Police have charged a man after locating drugs and cash in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 2.30pm (Saturday 19 May 2018), police stopped a vehicle on Sadlier Avenue, Ashcroft, and spoke with the male driver.

Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly located an amount of cannabis.

Later that evening, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Sadleir Avenue, Ashcroft.

Police located and seized a number of items including illicit drugs, believed to be cannabis and methylamphetamine, an amount of cash, a slingshot and machete.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

He was charged with supply cannabis indictable quantity (x2), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and goods in custody (x2).

The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 20 May 2018).
