Cash, Cigarettes Stolen at Port Augusta Station

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Port Augusta service station overnight.

Police were called to a service station on the Eyre Highway just after 4.30am on Tuesday 26 May, following reports that a man had entered the premises armed with an axe and threatened staff. The suspect stole cigarettes and cash from the till before fleeing.

The employee was not physically injured.

Multiple patrols attended and searched the area, however, the suspect was not located.

Crime scene investigators and detectives are attending the scene and investigations are ongoing.
