Cash located in Fitzgibbon, August 2015

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify the owner of a large sum of cash located in Fitzgibbon last year, Queensland Police say.

A black pastic box was located on Roghan Road on August 23 by members of the public and handed in to police at Carseldine Police Station.

Money– consisting solely of notes- and a mobile phone were located inside the box.

Extensive inquiries, including forensic testing of the cash and analysis of the mobile phone, has failed to locate the owner of the property.

Anyone with information which could assist police in identifying the owner is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Please Note: police will not be disclosing further information about the items, including the dollar value of the money located for operational reasons (for example, the owner would need to be able to provide the dollar figure).

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
