Cat-astrophe To Unfold In National Simultaneous Storytime

Gunnedah Shire Council

Gunnedah Shire Library staff are preparing their paws for this year's National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday, 21 May at 11am.

National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association, and features a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, that is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

The book on the catwalk this year is The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel and tells the tale of a feline Tinka who travels roads wide and narrow, near and distant in a truck with his human Yacoub. The two are unexpectedly separated, and while searching for one another, find more than they expected.

Children can participate in a book-related craft following storytime.

Join us at the Gunnedah Shire Library on Wednesday, 21 May at 11am as we take part in this national event.
