Cattle worth $8000 found shot dead in Northern NSW

Police are investigating after four head of cattle were found shot dead in Cangai, west of Grafton, two weeks, NSW Police say.

Two cows were found shot dead on a property on the Gwydir Highway, while two bullocks found dead at a property on Coombadja Road, both in Cangai, on Monday 16 May.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command were notified after the bodies were found by the property owners; it’s believed the attack happened between Friday 13 May and Monday 16 May 2016

The bodies have undergone forensic examination and investigations into the incidents are continuing.

Officers investigating the matter are urging anyone with information about the incidents or similar incidents to come forward.

The cattle have a combined estimated value of $8000.
