CCTV cameras capture arson at Old Reynella, SA

South Coast Police investigating an arson attack at a group of shops at Old Reynella yesterday morning, have released security vision capturing the incident that could have also injured the suspect, according to SA Police.

The CCTV vision of the incident shows two people at the rear of the shops on Old South Road at 3.20am on Monday 13 February .

One male pours accelerant on the premises and then ignites it. At the point of ignition an explosion occurs startling the suspect who runs from the fire, rolling under a fence with flames surrounding his lower leg and foot.

Quick thinking local residents who heard the incident alerted the MFS and then tackled the blaze until fire crews arrived keeping the damage to a minimum.


Police are seeking any information on the identity of the suspects shown in CCTV who also may have injured themselves in the incident.
