CCTV footage released after attempted armed robbery - Greenacre

Police have released CCTV footage as they investigate an attempted armed robbery earlier this week.

About 11.15pm on Tuesday (22 March 2022), a 23-year-old man was working in a service station on Roberts Road, Greenacre, when a man approached a counter and produced a knife.

Police have been told the armed man demanded money and threatened the employee, before the employee retreated into a back area of the premises.

The armed man unsuccessfully attempted to gain access to the back of the counter, before forcing the doors to the service station open and fleeing the scene.

The employee – who was uninjured – contacted police.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police have released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is depicted in the footage as wearing a dark long-sleeved top with a white emblem on the left chest area, a black cap, khaki knee-length shorts and black running shoes.
